Growcells’ Genomic Grade Bacterial Culture Media land on your bench completely prep-free: every broth is a sterile liquid that’s 0.22 µm filtered, terminally steam-sterilized in its final container, and bottled in reusable, autoclavable polycarbonate for maximum safety and minimum waste. Convenient volume options let you scale from a single flask to pilot production without ever opening a powder pouch or recalibrating pH.

Inside the portfolio you’ll find a purpose-built medium for every microbial milestone. YT Broth delivers the nutrient boost recombinant strains crave, while LB Lennox (10 g tryptone / 5 g yeast extract / 5 g NaCl, pH 7.0 ± 0.1) and LB Miller give you workhorse variations of classic LB for routine culturing, cloning, and protein expression. SOC Broth is formulated specifically to drive the transformation efficiency of competent E. coli cells, and when you need cell densities that push productivity, SuperBroth (32 g tryptone / 20 g yeast extract / 5 g NaCl, pH 7.0 ± 0.1) and Terrific Broth supply the high-nutrition, phosphate-buffered environment that safeguards plasmid fidelity while boosting yield. No matter which broth you choose, each lot ships with the same Growcells sterility and consistency—so your cultures grow faster, express more, and generate data you can trust.

Culture Broths

Yeast Extract-Tryptone (YT) broth is a growth medium used primarily in microbiology and molecular biology. It provides nutrients for the cultivation of bacteria, especially when trying to express recombinant proteins or grow bacterial cultures. Filter and Steam Sterilized.

LB Lennox broth, also known simply as LB Lennox, is a variation of the standard Luria-Bertani (LB) broth used in microbiology for growing bacterial cultures.
10g Tryptone, 5g Yeast Extract, 5g NaCl, pH Adjusted to 7.0 +/- 0.1

  • Bacterial Cultivation: Like standard LB broth, LB Lennox is used to grow a wide range of bacteria, including E. coli. It’s commonly used in laboratory settings for routine culturing.
  • Recombinant DNA Work: It is used for growing bacterial strains that harbor plasmids, especially in cloning and protein expression experiments.
  • General Research: Suitable for various microbiological studies, including antibiotic sensitivity tests and metabolic assays.

LB Miller broth is another variation of the standard Luria-Bertani (LB) broth, used primarily for growing bacterial cultures in microbiology and molecular biology. LB Miller broth has some differences in its formulation compared to other LB media, which can affect bacterial growth and experimental outcomes.

  • Bacterial Growth: It supports the growth of a variety of bacteria, including E. coli and other commonly used strains.
  • Recombinant DNA Technology: Frequently used in cloning experiments and protein expression studies where high bacterial yields are desired.
  • General Research: Suitable for various microbiological studies, including antibiotic sensitivity tests and metabolic assays.

SOC Broth, or Super Optimal Culture Broth, with Catabolite repression, is a nutrient-rich bacterial culture medium specifically designed to enhance the transformation efficiency of competent E. coli cells.

Optimally designed for improving yield while maintaining plasmid fidelity in the host cells. Superbroth (also known as Super Broth) is a highly nutritious growth medium used in microbiology and molecular biology for cultivating bacteria. It is designed to provide optimal growth conditions, particularly when high cell density or efficient protein expression is required.

Filter and Steam Sterilized.

32g Tryptone, 20g Yeast Extract, 5g NaCl, pH Adjusted to 7.0 +/- 0.1

TB broth, also known as Terrific Broth, is a nutrient-rich medium used in microbiology and molecular biology for growing bacteria, particularly E. coli. It is often employed in protein expression experiments and other applications where high cell densities are required.

Filter and Steam Sterilized.

12g Tryptone, 24g Yeast Extract, 9.4g Dibasic Potassium Phosphate, 2.2g Monobasic Potassium Phosphate, Adjusted to 7.0 +/- 0.2

  • High-Density Cultures: TB broth is often used when high cell densities are needed, such as for large-scale protein expression or biomass production.
  • Protein Expression: It supports the growth of E. coli and enhances the production of recombinant proteins, making it useful in various biotechnology and research applications
  • General Growth: Suitable for general bacterial cultivation, where enhanced growth and yield are desired.

Experience Packaging for Life Science Manufacturing and Applications

Growcells, in partnership with TriForest, shifted the paradigm of aqueous solution manufacturing. By using application-specific polycarbonate for its ability to withstand sterile steam autoclave cycles, TriForest introduced crystal-clear square/octagonal LEXAN® bottles that are shatter-proof, non-leaching, and repeatedly reusable, replacing fragile glass in the preparation of reagents, media, buffers, and other biological liquids. Produced in an ISO-certified Class 10K cleanroom, the bottles’ extra-thick walls and reinforced caps prevent rupture under high temperature and pressure, while Growcells’ dual role as manufacturer and end-user has refined the design for both bench-scale and large-volume production. The result is an innovative, sustainable labware line that outperforms PET and PETG alternatives and underscores both companies’ commitment to safer, more efficient sterile workflows and exceptional customer satisfaction.
