Applications
SuperBLOK™ Whole Genomic DNA is isolated and purified from human male birth placentas. The isolation protocol minimizes shearing and removes contaminants that might inhibit enzymatic procedures. Our extraction process takes into account the sensitivity of assays to contaminating spurious DNA and therefor undergoes extensive quality control checkpoints to ensure the absence of contaminating RNA and protein. We guarantee high molecular weight genomic DNA with no restriction enzyme activity observed.
Performance
Genome wide studies benefits from high molecular weight whole genomic DNA as a precursor for sequencing applications to procure target genes when fragmented. Using genomic DNA as reference in DNA microarrays overcomes changes in sample composition that yield inconsistencies in experimental data[1]. Amount and concentration of required DNA should be determined empirically, hence we offer custom volume options.

Quality
All preparations are assayed for contaminating endonuclease and certifiably free of non-specific RNase, single and double-stranded DNase activities. MBI/GROWCELLS, Inc. takes extraordinary steps to assure that our SuperBLOK™ DNA does not exceed theoretical size maximums for repetitive DNA found in the genome of interest, while carefully
removing non-COT fragments which might block a real target site.
The human-source material used in the production of this procedure tested negative for hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus (HCV), human immunodeficiency virus type-1 (HIV-1) and type-2 (HIV-2), humanT-cell lymphotropic virus (HTLV-1 and HTLV-2) and Treponema pallidum. The product should be handled using standard Biosafety level 2 procedures. Handle as if potentially infectious. All tissues used are traceable to the birth source.
